About This Service

A split system is the right call for cooling one or two specific rooms β€” bedroom, main living, study, granny flat. We supply and install all the major brands (Fujitsu, Daikin, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric), and as Fujitsu Authorised Agents we know which models actually deliver versus which to avoid in our climate.

We're dual-licensed (electrical and AC/refrigeration), so the whole job is in-house. If your install needs a new circuit added or a switchboard load assessment, we handle it in the same visit. No subbie chaos, no second appointments, one invoice.

Brands We Install

We supply and install the four brands that consistently perform in our climate:

  • Fujitsu β€” we're Authorised Agents, so we get factory pricing and factory training. Lifestyle Range and Designer for premium aesthetics, Classic for value.
  • Daikin β€” Cora and Zena ranges. Strong reliability, excellent low-temp heating performance.
  • Panasonic β€” solid mid-range performer, especially the Aero range.
  • Mitsubishi Electric β€” premium build quality, especially MSZ-AP range. Quiet operation.

If you're unsure which brand suits your room and budget, we'll talk you through it on the quote. We don't push whatever's cheapest at the wholesaler β€” we recommend what'll actually do the job and last.

Sizing Right Matters More Than Brand

An undersized split won't cool the room properly and runs flat-out trying. An oversized split short-cycles, leaves the room damp, and costs more to run. Both of these are common DIY and bad-installer mistakes.

We size based on room dimensions, ceiling height, glazing area, sun aspect and insulation level. A well-sized 7.1kW system will outperform a poorly-sized 8.0kW system every time β€” and cost less to run.

How a Typical Install Runs

Most splits take half a day. The process:

  1. Confirm wall placement, indoor and outdoor unit positions, and the pipe run path.
  2. Mount the indoor unit backplate, drill the wall, run pipework and cabling to the outdoor location.
  3. Install the outdoor unit on a wall bracket or pad, connect refrigerant lines, vacuum and pressure-test.
  4. Connect to power (existing circuit if compliant, new circuit if needed).
  5. Commission the system, pair the remote, run a full performance test, walk you through the controls.

You get a certificate of installation and the manufacturer's warranty registered in your name.

Why DIY Isn't an Option

It's illegal to handle refrigerant in Australia without an ARC licence β€” and it's the single biggest reason cheap online splits fail early. They get installed by handymen who don't vacuum the lines properly, which means moisture stays in the system, which kills the compressor in 2–4 years instead of 12–15.

We hold ARCtick refrigerant handling certification (RTA #AU44957) and full electrical contractor licensing. Every install is done legally, certified, and registered for warranty.

Typical Pricing

$1,800–$3,500
for most single-head installs

Range covers typical 5–9kW Fujitsu/Daikin installs on existing wiring with standard wall placement. Multi-head systems, longer pipe runs and new dedicated circuits sit above this range. Send a photo of the install location for an accurate fixed-price quote.

When To Call Us

  • Your existing split is over 12 years old and struggling
  • You're adding a bedroom, granny flat or extension
  • You only need to cool one or two rooms (not whole-home)
  • Your portable AC is costing more in power than a proper install would
  • You've moved into a place with no AC at all

Frequently Asked Questions

What size split do I need?

Roughly 1kW of cooling per 10sqm of floor area, but it varies with ceiling height, glazing and sun aspect. A 25sqm bedroom with average insulation typically needs a 2.5–3.5kW system; a 40sqm open-plan living usually needs 5–7.1kW. We size properly on the quote β€” undersized and oversized are both expensive mistakes.

Can you install a system I bought online?

We can, but we'd ask you to think hard about it first. Online splits often skip the manufacturer warranty registration, parts back-up is patchy, and any failure becomes your problem. We supply with full warranty cover and registered installation for not much more than online + paid install. We'll quote both ways if you'd like to compare.

Does a split need a dedicated circuit?

Most splits up to 5kW can run on an existing 15A circuit if it's a clean run with nothing else heavy on it. Larger systems (7kW+) usually want their own dedicated circuit. We check this on the quote and include any new circuit work in the fixed price.

How long does the install take?

Most single-head splits take 4–6 hours. Multi-head systems take a full day or two. We give a target start and finish time on the quote.

How long do splits last?

A properly installed Fujitsu, Daikin or Mitsubishi Electric split should give 12–15 years of reliable service with annual filter cleans and a coil clean every 2–3 years. Cheaper brands and DIY installs typically last 4–7 years.

Do you remove the old unit?

Yes β€” included in the fixed-price quote. We disconnect the old unit, take it off the wall, recover the refrigerant legally and dispose of the unit through proper waste channels.
