Lights out? Power points dead? Safety switch tripping? We diagnose properly and fix it right. $220 diagnostic, fixed-price repairs by a licensed electrician.
Electrical faults aren't a guessing game. A bad sparky changes a part, hopes it works, then changes another part when it doesn't. We diagnose properly first, give you a written fixed-price repair quote, and only proceed with your approval.
We work on residential electrical faults across the Northern Gold Coast — tripping circuits, dead power points, flickering lights, hot or buzzing switches, lost neutral faults. Standard diagnostic is $220 fixed-price.
Safety switch (RCD) keeps tripping: usually a faulty appliance, water ingress in a wall switch or GPO, or an aged kitchen/bathroom circuit. We isolate which circuit, then which fitting.
Lights flickering or dimming: often a loose neutral connection (potentially serious — call sooner rather than later), failing transformer in LED downlights, or supply-side issues we'd flag for Energex.
Dead power points: usually a tripped circuit you don't realise has tripped, a failed GPO, or a broken neutral on the circuit. Quick to find with proper testing.
Burning smell or hot switches: stop using that circuit and call us today. Loose connections inside a wall switch generate heat and are a genuine fire risk.
Buzzing switches or sockets: loose connection. Same as above — call us.
We don't guess. The $220 diagnostic includes:
Many faults can be diagnosed and repaired in the same visit. More complex ones (rewires, hidden cable damage) take a follow-up.
Always call us: burning smell, hot switches, sparks from sockets, RCD repeatedly tripping, lights dimming with appliances, anything water-related on a circuit.
Try yourself first: reset the tripped breaker (once), check if it's a single appliance causing it, replace a globe in a fitting that doesn't need wiring access.
Never DIY: opening a wall switch or GPO, modifying the switchboard, running new cable, anything in a roof cavity. It's illegal and the insurance won't pay if something goes wrong.
$220 fixed-price diagnostic to identify the fault. Most common repairs sit between $300 and $600 (faulty power points, GPO replacements, light fittings, breaker swaps, simple wiring repairs). More involved repairs (rewires, switchboard work, multi-circuit faults) cost more — always quoted fixed-price before work starts.
Usually a faulty appliance somewhere on the circuit. Sometimes water ingress in a wall switch, sometimes ageing wiring. We isolate by switching off appliances one by one, then by isolating the circuit at the board. Most are quick to find.
Same-day callouts often possible for genuine faults during business hours. For genuine emergencies (hot switches, burning smell, sparks), call and we'll prioritise.
In 90%+ of cases, yes. The remaining 10% are usually intermittent faults (only happen at certain times) or hidden cable damage that needs more investigation. We'll always tell you upfront if it's likely to need follow-up testing.
Standard hours are Mon–Fri 7:30am–4:30pm. We don't typically do after-hours, but for genuine safety emergencies (hot switches, burning smell), call and we'll work something out.
Full rewires yes, but they're substantial jobs typically tied to renovations. We'll quote fixed-price after a site visit and walk you through what's involved.
We're residential-focused only. For commercial work, we're happy to recommend trusted contractors.
For installs and compliance jobs, send us a floor plan and we'll come back same day.
