Why Upper Coomera Homes Need Properly Specced AC
Upper Coomera summers are hot, humid, and long. A poorly-sized or badly-installed split system will struggle through January and February, run constantly, and chew through power. A properly-sized, properly-installed one will quietly handle 35°C days while drawing minimum power.
The typical Upper Coomera house stock — brick veneer, concrete tile roof, slab on ground, north-facing living areas — has specific cooling characteristics. We've installed enough in this suburb to know what works.
Common Upper Coomera Install Jobs
- Master bedroom split — usually a 2.5–3.5 kW unit, brick wall mount, 3–5m pipe run to back of house
- Open-plan living/dining — usually 5–7.2 kW, often the trickier install due to vaulted ceiling or limited wall space
- Kids' bedrooms — 2.5 kW each, often as a multi-head or two single splits sharing outdoor wall
- Media room / home office — 2.5 kW, growing demand since 2020
- Replacement of older units — 10–15 year old systems with failed compressors or refrigerant leaks
Brands We Install
We're brand-neutral. Most quotes include 2–3 options across these brands so you can pick what suits your budget and warranty preference:
- Fujitsu / General — Fujitsu Australia rebranded as General. Same brand, same units. Strong mid-premium fit.
- Daikin — premium, especially for whisper-quiet bedrooms and zone-3 climate performance
- Mitsubishi Electric — premium, strong on long pipe runs and difficult installs
- Panasonic — solid mid-range, good warranty
- Other brands available on request — LG, Samsung, Hitachi, Toshiba, Kelvinator, Carrier
Sizing — Not Just "What Fits the Budget"
Bedroom split systems are not 2.5 kW just because that's what's on special. Properly sized split systems factor in:
- Room size in m² and ceiling height
- Window area and sun aspect
- Insulation and wall type
- Adjacent heat sources (kitchen, north-facing wall, etc.)
- How many people will use the room and how often
Undersizing means the system runs flat-out and never quite catches up. Oversizing means short-cycling, humidity issues, and wasted power. We size to what your room actually needs.
